Claudia
Claudia Martin is a visual artist and early childhood educator working primarily with sculpture, 3 dimensional design, watercolor & acrylic painting, and Ikebana flower arranging. While raising two children in West Portal, San Francisco, she finished 2 AA degrees in Studio Art and Early Childhood education at Skyline College while working as a preschool teacher at UCSF Kirkham Child Development Center. Claudia has over 25 years experience working with children and families as a preschool teacher, nanny, post-partum doula and camp counselor. After completing the 8 week Mindfulness course in 2015, she has blended mindfulness into her curriculum which has helped show children ways to slow down and appreciate the moment. One of the ways in which Claudia appreciates the moment is practicing the art of Ikebana Flower arranging. She has been trained by multiple Ikebana masters over the past 12 years. Many parents compliment her on her gift for helping children explore their creativity and connect to nature, especially flowers.
